Compliance

Compliance as a Service. Not Just a Checklist.

HIPAA, CMMC, NIST, and beyond. BASG delivers guided compliance programs for South Florida healthcare providers, defense contractors, and regulated businesses.

Frameworks We Support

Deep expertise across the compliance standards that matter most to regulated industries.

Healthcare Compliance

HIPAA

HIPAA compliance requires administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect patient data. BASG handles the full scope: risk analysis, policy development, access controls, encryption, audit logging, and breach notification procedures.

Who needs this:

Hospitals, clinics, dental practices, mental health providers, medical billing companies, and any organization that handles protected health information (PHI).

Defense Compliance

CMMC

CMMC requires verified cybersecurity maturity across multiple domains. BASG guides you through self-assessment, gap remediation, policy creation, technical control implementation, and preparation for third-party assessments.

Who needs this:

Defense contractors, subcontractors, manufacturers in the defense industrial base, and any organization handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for the Department of Defense.

General Compliance

NIST

The NIST Cybersecurity Framework provides a flexible, risk-based approach to security. BASG maps your current controls to NIST standards, identifies gaps, and builds a prioritized remediation plan aligned to your risk tolerance.

Who needs this:

Federal agencies, government contractors, financial institutions, technology companies, and any organization seeking a rigorous, widely recognized cybersecurity framework.

Guided Coaching, Not Just Audits

Most compliance firms hand you a checklist and a bill. BASG embeds with your team to build a sustainable compliance program that grows with your business. We handle the technical implementation, the documentation, and the ongoing maintenance so compliance becomes a business advantage instead of a burden.

  • Dedicated compliance advisor assigned to your account for continuity
  • Technical implementation of security controls alongside documentation
  • Quarterly compliance reviews that adapt your program to new regulations
  • Audit-ready documentation maintained in real time, not assembled under pressure

What We Cover

End-to-end compliance management across every stage of your compliance lifecycle.

Risk Assessment

Comprehensive risk analysis that identifies vulnerabilities, threat vectors, and potential impact across your entire technology environment and business processes.

Policy Development

Custom security policies, procedures, and documentation tailored to your framework requirements. Not templates. Policies that reflect how your organization actually operates.

Employee Training

Role-based security awareness training and compliance education. Your staff understands their responsibilities, recognizes threats, and follows proper procedures.

Audit Preparation

Complete preparation for internal and external audits. We organize evidence, conduct mock audits, and ensure every control is documented and verifiable before assessors arrive.

Continuous Monitoring

Compliance is not a point-in-time event. We monitor controls, track changes, and maintain your compliance posture through automated scanning and regular reviews.

Incident Response

Documented incident response plans with defined roles, communication protocols, and regulatory notification timelines. Ready to execute when every second counts.

Florida Government Cybersecurity Mandates

What Florida law requires of state agencies and local governments, and what that means if you sell to them.

Florida's government cybersecurity mandates sit in three sections of Chapter 282 of the Florida Statutes. Each applies to a public body, but the obligations flow into the contracts those bodies sign with IT vendors, software providers and contractors.

State agencies: s. 282.318

The State Cybersecurity Act. Agencies must run a security program consistent with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, train every employee within 30 days of hire and annually, report ransomware within 12 hours and severity 3 to 5 incidents within 48 hours, and file an after-action report within a week of remediation.

Local governments: s. 282.3185

The Local Government Cybersecurity Act. Counties and municipalities must adopt NIST-aligned standards (larger governments by 1 January 2024, smaller ones by 1 January 2025), give basic training to every employee with network access and advanced training to technology staff, and report on the same 12-hour and 48-hour clocks to the state Cybersecurity Operations Center, FDLE's Cybercrime Office and the sheriff.

Ransom payments: s. 282.3186

A state agency, county or municipality experiencing a ransomware incident may not pay or otherwise comply with a ransom demand. Recovery has to come from backups and rebuilds, which is why the backup and restore evidence in a public contract gets read closely.

What this means for vendors and contractors

The statutes do not regulate private companies, but s. 282.318 requires agencies to buy IT commodities and services that meet the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and to write state and federal cybersecurity requirements into solicitations, contracts and service-level agreements, with the security responsibilities of provider and agency spelled out. A local government that has adopted its own NIST-aligned standards will usually expect the same from its suppliers. Bids and renewals therefore tend to ask for three things:

  • Evidence of the controls mapped to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework: access control, MFA, endpoint detection, logging, patching and backups, with documentation an auditor can follow.
  • A defined split of security responsibilities in the service-level agreement, so the agency can show which party owns each control.
  • Incident support on the state's clock. A vendor that cannot tell its public-sector customer what happened within hours puts that customer's 12-hour ransomware report at risk.

Two bills in the 2026 session, HB 635 and SB 692, would have limited what local governments may require of vendors and added a liability shield for compliant entities. Neither passed, so the sections above remain the operative rules. BASG maps your existing controls to the framework, closes the gaps and prepares the evidence.
