What is cybersecurity services?

BASG Cybersecurity Services is a fully managed, layered defense program for South Florida and nationwide mid-market businesses. It combines AI-powered endpoint detection and response (EDR), 24/7 SOC monitoring, SIEM, vulnerability management, phishing simulation, multi-factor authentication, and zero-trust identity controls — aligned to NIST CSF and HIPAA, with optional CMMC alignment. BASG's own security team also runs incident response, penetration testing, and red team exercises, including for banks, credit unions, and other financial firms.

Who it is for

  • Mid-market businesses (25–500 employees) without a dedicated internal security team
  • Healthcare practices and clinics needing HIPAA-grade controls (including the proposed Security Rule update)
  • Construction and distribution firms operating across multiple sites
  • Defense-industrial-base contractors aligning to CMMC Levels 1–3
  • Companies that already had a breach and want a real program, not another point product
  • Banks, credit unions, wealth managers, and fintechs that need incident response, penetration testing, and red team exercises

How it works

  1. Discovery: BASG runs a current-state security assessment against NIST CSF and (where applicable) HIPAA Security Rule controls.
  2. Stack consolidation: replace overlapping point products with a single managed EDR + SIEM + identity stack.
  3. Identity hardening: enforce MFA, conditional access, and least-privilege admin via Microsoft Entra ID.
  4. 24/7 monitoring: SOC analysts watch the SIEM and EDR around the clock, with automated containment for confirmed threats.
  5. Continuous controls: vulnerability scans, phishing simulations, dark-web monitoring, and quarterly tabletop exercises.
  6. Incident response: defined IR runbooks, breach reporting timelines, and forensic support.

What is included

  • Managed EDR on every endpoint
  • 24/7 SOC monitoring and SIEM aggregation
  • Multi-factor authentication and conditional access
  • Vulnerability scanning (biannual minimum, more for healthcare)
  • Phishing simulation and security awareness training
  • Dark-web monitoring for credential exposure
  • Email security with phishing, attachment, and impersonation protection
  • Documented incident response runbooks and tabletop exercises
  • Penetration testing and red team exercises by our own testers (scoped per engagement)

Pricing model

Cybersecurity is delivered as part of BASG's managed IT engagement (per user / per endpoint per month) or as a standalone managed-security retainer. Pricing is scoped to the environment — number of users, endpoints, sites, compliance scope, and existing tooling. Contact BASG for an indicative quote.

Compliance & security

Controls map to NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-171, HIPAA Security Rule (and the proposed 2026 update), CMMC Levels 1–3, and the Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA). BASG signs Business Associate Agreements with healthcare clients.

How it compares to alternatives

  • In-house security team — Companies with 500+ employees and capital to staff a 24/7 SOC, dedicated security engineers, and a CISO.
  • Generic MSP add-on — Companies with low compliance exposure and limited regulatory or audit pressure.
  • BASG managed cybersecurity — Mid-market businesses that need 24/7 detection, response, and compliance evidence without hiring a security team in-house.

Common questions

How quickly can BASG detect a breach?
Average detection time is under 30 minutes on managed endpoints. Automated containment triggers within seconds of confirmed malicious activity, followed by analyst-led investigation per the IR runbook.
Do you handle the full breach response?
Yes. Managed clients receive 24/7 incident response with defined runbooks, containment, eradication, recovery, breach reporting (24-hour for HIPAA business associates), and post-incident reporting.
Will you replace our existing security tools?
Where the current stack overlaps or underperforms. BASG consolidates onto a single managed EDR + SIEM + identity stack and reuses existing tools when they meet our standard.

How to get started

Book a security assessment with BASG. We'll inventory your current controls, map them against NIST CSF and (if relevant) HIPAA, and deliver a written gap analysis with a phased remediation plan and indicative pricing.

For banks, credit unions and financial firms

Incident Response, Penetration Testing, and Red Team Exercises

Monitoring keeps watch. These three services show whether your defenses actually hold, and take over when they don't. BASG's own security team runs all three.

Incident Response and Rapid Response

Call 888-421-5550 at any hour. A BASG responder starts with containment: isolating affected machines, disabling compromised accounts, and cutting off the attacker's access. Then we scope what was touched and since when, preserve the evidence your insurer, counsel and law enforcement will ask for, and restore from a known-good state.

We keep a written timeline from the first call, so your compliance team and counsel can make notification decisions on facts rather than guesses. After recovery you get a root-cause report and the fixes that stop a repeat.

Notification clocks we plan around

  • Banks: notify your primary federal regulator within 36 hours of determining a notification incident occurred.
  • Federally insured credit unions: notify the NCUA within 72 hours of reasonably believing a reportable incident occurred.
  • NYDFS-regulated firms: notify DFS within 72 hours of determining a cybersecurity incident occurred.
  • Non-bank financial firms (FTC Safeguards Rule): notify the FTC within 30 days of discovering an event affecting 500 or more consumers.
  • Broker-dealers and investment advisers (SEC Reg S-P): notify affected customers within 30 days of becoming aware of unauthorized access to sensitive information.

Summaries only. Your counsel decides what is reportable.

Penetration Testing

Our testers attack your environment the way a real adversary would, inside rules of engagement we agree in writing, with testing windows planned around your business hours and processing cut-offs. The goal is not a scanner printout: it is proof of what an attacker could actually reach, and how.

You get an executive summary your board and examiners can read, technical findings ranked by how exploitable they are with evidence and reproduction steps, remediation guidance, and a retest of what you fixed. Findings are mapped to the frameworks you answer to: the FTC Safeguards Rule and NYDFS Part 500 both require annual penetration testing, and PCI DSS requires it annually and after significant changes.

Scope a penetration test

What we test

  • External network: everything an attacker on the internet can see and touch
  • Internal network: assume-breach testing from an ordinary employee device
  • Web applications and APIs: online banking, portals, and customer-facing apps
  • Cloud and Microsoft 365: identity, conditional access, and configuration
  • Wireless: branch and office networks
  • Social engineering: phishing and phone pretexting, plus physical access where in scope

Red Team Exercises

A penetration test finds as many weaknesses as it can inside a defined scope. A red team exercise asks a different question: could a determined attacker reach a specific goal without your people noticing? We agree the objective with a small control group on your side, then pursue it quietly, using the same techniques real attackers use.

Afterwards, a purple-team debrief replays the attack step by step with your defenders: what they detected, what they missed, and which detections and procedures to fix first. If you have never had a penetration test, or monitoring is not yet in place, we will tell you to start there instead.

Plan a red team exercise

Example objectives

  • Reach the wire-transfer or payment approval process
  • Read or extract customer financial records
  • Take over a privileged administrator account
  • Stay inside the network without being detected
  • Get a fraudulent payment request approved by email or phone

The control group can pause or stop the exercise at any point.

The Threats Are Real. The Stakes Are Higher.

Ransomware gangs, nation-state actors, and automated botnets don't discriminate by company size. If you store data, process payments, or operate online, you are a target. The question is not whether an attack will come. It is whether you will be ready.

BASG builds layered security architectures designed to detect, contain, and neutralize threats at every stage of the kill chain. Proactive defense, not reactive firefighting.

24/7 security operations center with analysts monitoring threat detection systems, multiple screens displaying real-time cybersecurity dashboards

Six Layers of Protection

A single firewall is not a strategy. True security requires overlapping defenses across every surface of your environment.

Zero-Trust Architecture

Every user, device, and request is verified before access is granted. No implicit trust, no exceptions. Identity-first security at every layer.

AI Threat Detection

Machine learning models analyze network behavior in real time, flagging anomalies and potential threats faster than any human analyst.

Endpoint Security

EDR and next-gen antivirus on every device, managed centrally. Automated response isolates compromised endpoints in seconds.

Email Security

Advanced phishing protection, attachment sandboxing, and impersonation detection. Email remains the top attack vector and we lock it down.

Network Security

Next-gen firewalls, network segmentation, intrusion prevention, and encrypted traffic inspection. Your perimeter and internal traffic stay protected.

Identity Management

Multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, conditional access policies, and privileged access management. Control who gets in and what they can touch.

Our Security Stack

Four pillars that work together to form a complete security lifecycle. Detection feeds protection. Protection enables response. Response drives recovery.

Detection

24/7 security operations center monitoring with AI-powered SIEM and behavioral analytics. We see threats the moment they appear.

Protection

Layered defenses across network, endpoint, email, and identity. Multiple barriers ensure no single point of failure in your security posture.

Response

Automated containment with human-led investigation. When an incident occurs, our team isolates, eradicates, and remediates within defined SLAs.

Recovery

Tested disaster recovery playbooks and forensic analysis. We restore operations, identify root cause, and harden systems to prevent recurrence.

AI-assisted, analyst-verified

Machines sort the alerts. Analysts make the call.

Security teams drown in alerts. The strongest evidence so far says AI helps most when it does the first pass and a trained analyst decides, which is how BASG's SOC works.

Verify

is still the rule. Microsoft's own guidance says agent outputs can be inaccurate, generated scripts need testing, and people must verify critical outputs.

What You Are Actually Buying

The services behind the stack, in the words people use to search for them.

Managed SOC and 24/7 Security Monitoring

A security operations centre watching your environment around the clock, because attackers do not observe business hours. Ransomware deployment disproportionately happens overnight and on holiday weekends, for the obvious reason.

The part that decides whether 24/7 monitoring is real or theatre is the escalation runbook: who gets called at 2am, what they are authorised to do without waiting for approval, and how it gets documented. We agree that before onboarding, not during an incident. Alerting nobody acts on is a subscription, not a service.

Managed SIEM and Log Management

Security information and event management aggregates logs from endpoints, firewalls, identity providers, and cloud services into one correlated view, so a pattern spread across four systems becomes visible as one incident.

SIEM is also where compliance evidence comes from. HIPAA, CMMC, and SOC 2 all require audit logging with retention, and an auditor asking "show me who accessed this system in March" needs an answer that takes minutes rather than a week of grep.

EDR and Managed Detection and Response

Endpoint detection and response replaces signature-based antivirus with behavioural analysis: it flags a process doing something it should not, rather than matching a file against a list of known-bad hashes. Automated containment isolates a compromised device in seconds, before lateral movement.

Cyber insurers now verify EDR specifically, and increasingly ask whether it includes active response rather than alert-only. Deploying EDR without configuring containment is a common way to fail a renewal questionnaire while technically having the product.

Zero Trust Access and Identity Security

Zero trust means no implicit trust based on network location: every user, device, and request is verified. In practice that is multi-factor authentication everywhere including remote access and email, conditional access policies, single sign-on, and privileged access management so administrative rights are granted for a task rather than held permanently.

Continuous Controls and Testing

Security posture decays without maintenance. Ongoing engagements include vulnerability scanning with CVSS-prioritised remediation, phishing simulations, dark-web monitoring for exposed credentials, and quarterly tabletop exercises so an incident response plan has been rehearsed by the people who would run it. Where a framework requires annual penetration testing (the proposed HIPAA Security Rule update would), our own testers run it and we remediate what it finds. See penetration testing.

Cyber Insurance Readiness

A growing share of security engagements now start with an insurance questionnaire rather than an incident. Underwriters stopped accepting checkboxes and began verifying controls, and renewals are being declined or repriced over gaps that used to pass.

The controls that get verified in 2026: MFA on everything including remote access and email, EDR with active response rather than alert-only, tested and immutable backups, and a documented incident response plan with named roles. We assess against the specific questionnaire you were sent, close the gaps, and package the evidence your broker needs.

Managed Security Services for Miami and South Florida

"Managed security" gets sold as anything from a firewall subscription to a full security operations team. For Miami and South Florida businesses, this is what ours includes, and who does what when something fires.

24/7 managed detection and response. EDR on every endpoint, with alerts triaged around the clock and confirmed threats contained, not just forwarded to you as a ticket.

SIEM and log correlation. Endpoint, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID sign-ins, firewall and VPN logs in one place, so a suspicious login and a new mailbox forwarding rule get read as one incident.

Identity and email protection. Phishing-resistant MFA, conditional access, DMARC, and monitoring for the invoice and wire-fraud patterns that hit South Florida's trade, real estate, and professional services firms.

Incident response with an agreed runbook. Before onboarding we agree who gets called, what we may do on our own (isolate a laptop, disable an account), and what needs your approval.

Compliance built in. HIPAA for medical practices, client-confidentiality obligations for law firms, and the controls financial and wealth-management firms are asked to evidence, mapped to the same monitoring rather than run as a separate project.

Monitoring is remote by nature. The difference with a Miami-Dade provider is the response: when containment means pulling a switch or replacing a compromised machine, our engineers drive from Kendall rather than shipping a box. See IT support and cybersecurity across Miami-Dade.
